The Photographer
Born in Florida. Emancipated at 16 and landed in Michigan, where I became one of West Michigan’s premiere female impersonators — and locked down a five-year contract at one of the region’s largest LGBTQ entertainment complexes.
That stage life taught me something most photographers never learn: what it feels like to need images that match the person you know you are. I understood firsthand that photography wasn’t just documentation — it was representation. It was power. It was the difference between being seen and being overlooked.
When I moved to California, the stage persona didn’t follow me — but the instinct did. Fifteen years behind the camera later, I’ve turned that knowledge into an experience. I know what it’s like to transform in front of a lens because I’ve done it myself. Now I do it for other people.
MODERNAPERTURE is built on emotive direction and a wireless strobist approach. Any location becomes the studio. Every session becomes the moment you finally see yourself the way the world should.
HOW I WORK
No permanent studio. No overhead. Just professional lighting that goes anywhere — rooftops, alleys, parks, your living room. The gear travels, so the options are endless.
I’ll guide you through every shot with emotive direction — exercises and energy that pull out real expressions, not forced smiles. People tell me they’ve never felt that comfortable in front of a camera. That’s the whole point.
What you see is what you get. Straight talk, fair pricing, and final images delivered within 14 business days. No fluff, no upsells.
“You’re going to feel something in front of this camera. That’s the whole point.”
